Rc1/4 Thread
Rc1/4 thread
A tapered screw gauge used for inspection of screws (R, Rc, Rp) primarily for mechanical connections that require sealing, newly established by JIS after introduction of the ISO gauge standard.
Is R and RC thread the same?
R = External tapered screw pipe thread for fits made on the thread per ISO-7 & BS-21. Per the standard the R mates with the Rc and Rp, but will also mate with the G. Rc = internal tapered threads for fits made on the thread per ISO-7 & BS-21.
Is RC thread the same as BSPT?
Thread Cheat Sheet and Notes: Rc, R(PT) and BSPT are the same.
Is RC thread the same as BSPP?
Aug 27, 2019. BSPP vs BSPT vs R and Rc thread are different applications of adapters. BSPP is parallel thread, BSPT, R and Rc are taper thread, but Rc is female BSPT thread. BSPP and BSPT (in most cases) have different threads per inch (TPI) (and consequently the pitch).
What does R mean in thread?
BSP distinguishes between two types of threads. These are parallel threads (BSPP), which have a constant diameter, which are known a G threads, and taper threads (BSPT), whose diameter increases or decreases along the length of the thread, known as R threads.
What is R thread size?
British Pipe Thread ( Whitworth Form) -- Taper (BSPT) | ||
---|---|---|
Thread Designation BSPT | Nominal Size BSPT | Minor Diameter Male Thd. d3 |
R 1 | 1" | 30.291 |
R 1 1/4 | 1 1/4" | 38.952 |
R 1 1/2 | 1 1/2" | 44.845 |
What is R and Rp thread?
There are two types of BSP threads; - BSPP - Female & male thread are both (also known as G) - BSPT - Female thread is parallel and the male thread is tapered (also know as R/Rp) (the female thread can also be tapered it is then Rc, these are fairly rare to find).
Can BSP be threaded to BSPT?
British Standard Pipe threads are similar in function to NPT threads, but are generally not interchangeable. BSPT male threads seal against threads of fixed BSPT female. Contact is made on the flanks of the threads. Use of a thread sealant is recommended for BSPT male to BSPT female connections.
What is RC port?
Choose the Device Settings->Remote Control tab on the left side of the Control Panel. The SPNTrio has two rear panel Remote Control (RC) ports. These are used to control the TEL, CODEC1 or CODEC2 conferencing interfaces.
Are R and G threads compatible?
Male G-thread (parallel) can only be screwed into female G-thread. Male R-thread (conical) can be screwed into a G or R thread.
What is R1 2 thread?
These are sometimes denoted by the letter R, for example R1/2" means a taper 1/2 inch BSP thread.
Is BSP and BSPP the same?
BSP stands for British Standard Pipe technical standards. BSP connection includes two types of threads, one is BSPP which can be straight or parallel; the other one is BSPT, which is tapered. The thread pitch and thread angle is the same 55 degree. BSP is not the same as BSPP.
What is #4 thread size?
Major Diameter (in) | Threads per inch (tpi) | Pitch (mm) |
---|---|---|
#3 - 48 | 48 | 0.529 |
#4 - 40 | 40 | 0.635 |
#5 - 40 | 40 | 0.635 |
What size is a 1/4 thread?
As a general “rule of thumb” an NPT thread is approximately 1/4" (0.25”) larger than its “name.” For a 1/4" NPT fitting the “nominal” OD is 0.533”. NPT fittings are slightly tapered so the “nominal” diameter is the diameter in the middle of the threaded portion, as measured by the top (crest) of the threads.
What are G1 4 threads?
G1/4 is a straight thread (no tapering). This type does NOT seal in the threads, which is why you ALWAYS see G1/4 barbs with an o-ring. The o-ring provides the seal between the barb and threading. This thread type is easier to use because it provides a much more consistent seal when compared to NPT.
What is a 1/4 BSP thread?
Measure the Inside of a Female Thread Port: If it is 11.9mm Internal Diameter — then the actual port size is a Female 1/4" BSP Thread. If it is 15.2mm Internal Diameter — then the actual port size is a Female 3/8" BSP Thread. If it is 19.1mm Internal Diameter — then the actual port size is a Female 1/2" BSP Thread.
What is the drill size for 1/4 BSP?

How do I measure thread size?
Use a caliper to measure the nominal male or female thread press to crest diameter on the first
Is RP same as G?
Both have the matching size designations (nominal major diameter and threads-per-inch). The differences between the G-series screw thread and the Rp-series screw thread include: The G-series screw thread is made to ISO-228 while the Rp-series screw thread is made to ISO-7 or BS-21 or EN 10226-1.
What is Rp pipe size?
refers to the threaded end of a fitting or pipe which is 1/4 inch trade size (not actually 0.25 inches), and having British Standard Parallel Pipe threads.
